Bhopal, Feb 25 (PTI) The State Economic Offence Wing(EOW) today put up challan in a local court against threeformer top officials of the MP State Industrial DevelopmentCorporation (MPSIDC), a former State Industries Commissionerand two high ranking officers of a now defunct private companyin a cheating case.
The challan was put up in the court of special judge R SChauhan under relevant sections of the IPC and Prevention ofCorruption Act, Bhopal EOW Superintendent of Police ArvindSaxena told PTI.
The challan has been put up against former MPSIDCManaging Director M P Rajan, ex Chairman Rajendra Singh andformer director J S Murthy, the then MP IndustriesCommissioner Ajay Acharya, besides now defunct Chennai-basedPashumai Irrigation Company the then Chief Executive Officer(CEO) A Jankiraman and its then Managing Director Anand PFedrick.
EOW officials said that the Pashumai Irrigation companyhad taken a loan of Rs 50 lakhs from the MPSIDC unlawfully toset up a plant in Madhya Pradesh. Rajan, Singh, Acharya andMurthy didn''t go by the book in granting the loan.
The Pashumai Irrigation turned defaulter in 2003, someyears after taking the loan, they added.
