San Francisco, Feb 25: Once again the rumors of the second generation Apple iPad reached in its peak after invitations were sent out by iPhone maker, Apple Inc., for a media event. Various gadget market analysts said that Apple will uncover the iPad2 to compete with rival tablets running on Google's Android operating systems.

According to invitations that were sent to reporters via email, Apple will host the media event on Mar 2 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. This was the same venue, where Apple launched the real hero iPad in Jan 2010.

The invitation featured an image of a curling calender page with a giant '2' at the center and a current iPad at the backpage. The invitation reads, "Come see what 2011 will be the year of." Media reported that the invitation with featured image hints to the launch of iPad 2.

Various rumors suggest that the iPad 2 would have a FaceTime camera for video calling and a faster chip to compete with rivals like Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, HP TouchPad etc. Some others opinionated that Apple may make little changes to the current iPad version as the iPad 2, but is planning to launch a totally revamped third generation Apple iPad 3.

The iPad3 may be available by Winter in the international market, aiming to continue the uptrend of iPads. The features and specifications of iPad 3 may include a screen with Retina Display-like quality with 2048x1536 pixel resolution. The screen size would be 9.7-inch and include an IPS panel with FFS (Fringe-Field Switching) technology. These are all just rumors and we are still waiting for the official event. Stay tuned for more updates.
