Mumbai, Feb 25 (PTI) Describing Anant Pai as one who hadgenuine love for the children and for their emotional andspiritual development, Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayananhas expressed profound grief over the demise of the creator ofAmar Chitra Katha and Tinkle comics.
In a condolence message, the Governor said: "Anant Paihad genuine love for children and for their emotional andspiritual development. He had an undying passion forexplaining the rich cultural heritage of India to childrenthrough stories and comics.
"For more than 50 years, he wrote hundreds of books whichwere translated into several Indian and foreign languages.
Many of the fabled characters created by him have beenorphaned by his demise.
"At a personal level, Uncle Pai came across as a gem of aperson with a child�s heart. His demise is a setback to theworld of children''s literature. Generations of people who grewup reading his books will always miss their beloved UnclePai," he said.
