opposition allegation against CM''s son baseless: Divakaran
Kozhikode, Feb 24 (PTI): Kerala food minister C Divakarantoday termed as baseless, the opposition Congress-led UnitedDemocratic Front(UDF) allegations of corruption levelledagainst Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan''s son Arun Kumar.
Speaking to mediapersons today, Divakaran, heading theongoing ''vikasana munnetta jatha'' of Left DemocraticFront, said the allegations are baseless and thatAchuthanandan had already clarified matters.
"Achuthanandan is a prominent leader of the state, added towhich LDF has a strong leadership," he said.
He claimed the march had received an overwhelming responsefrom the people from the time it started.
The state-wide march, aimed at highlighting ''achievements''of the state government in taking up development projects, wasflagged-off by Achuthanandan from Kasargod District onFebruary 18.The march would culminate at Thrissur on March 2.
Meanwhile Kerala industries minister Elamaram Kareem,speaking to mediapersons here, asked IUML State GeneralSecretary P K Kunhalikutty, who raised the allegations, togive it in writing.
Kunhalikutty has to clarify in what way Arun Kumar hadviolated the law, Kareem said.
