Haryana to introduce new transport policy next month

Chandigarh, Feb 24 (PTI) Haryana government wouldintroduce its new transport policy next month under whichlicences would be issued to a total of 2700 transportsocieties, including the licence holders of 900 oldcooperative societies.

The objective of the new policy is to provide bettertransport facilities to the people and employment tounemployed youth, an official release said here today.

A provision had been made in the new transport policythat in case a transport society was challaned twice for notplying buses on the route allotted to it, licence of thesociety would be cancelled on the third fault.
