Dynamic Indian of the Millennium awards presented

Coimbatore, Feb 25 (PTI): City-based KG Foundation todayhonoured Venkat Changavalli, founder-CEO, Emergency Managementand Research Institute of 108 Ambulance fame and Dr KVeeramani, Chancellor, Periyar Maniamalla University andpresident, Dravida Kazhagam, with the ''Dynamic Indian ofthe Millennium'' awards.

Presenting the awards, foundation chairman Dr GBhakthavatsalam said the award has been given to personalitieswho have risen above the ordinary by making an extraordinarycontribution to the nation.

Accepting the award, Veeramani asked the audience, mostlystudents, to remove superstition from their minds to gainself-confidence and achieve their goal without impediments.

Aptitude and attitude during education would take studentsto a higher plane, he said, adding they should strive tocreate a society where everyone would have equal rightswithout any barriers.

Venkat, in his acceptance speech, said it was the duty ofstudents to make India a great Nation, since it was only themand not politicians, who can achieve the goal.

Former president, Dr A P J Abdul KJalam, Dr ChristianBarnard, World''s first heart transplant surgeon and N Ram,Editor-in-chief, The Hindu gorup of publications, were amongthose who were given the awards earlier.
