Hyderabad, Feb 25 (PTI) Congress MLAs and MLCs from non-Telangana regions today decided to urge the Centre to take anappropriate decision on the Sri Krishna committee suggestionson the Telangana issue.
In the wake of some Congress MLAs from Telangana raisingthe separate statehood in the assembly today, Congress MLAsand MLCs from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema held a meetingtoday.
All-round development of the state and the welfare ofbackward classes is best served in the state remaining united,they said.Talking to reporters after the meeting, Primary EducationMinister S Sailajanath said Congress legislators from non-Telangana regions would like to urge the Centre to takeappropriate decision on the Sri Krishna committee report.
About 15 MLAs of the ruling Congress from Telanganajoined their TRS and TDP colleagues in disrupting proceedingsof Andhra Pradesh Assembly today on the separate statehoodissue.
This forced Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar to adjournthe House for the day without transacting any business aftertwo earlier adjournments.
