34 SAIL employee wins PM''s Shram awards
Rourkela, Feb 25 (PTI) 34 employees of the SteelAuthority Of India Limited (SAIL) have won the PrimeMinister''s Shram Awards for 2009.
The award winners from SAIL, including 13 from theRourkela Steel Plant (RSP), constitute 34 of the totalawardees, RSP sources said here today.
In 2008, SAIL bagged 24 Shram awards. Even in 2005,2006 and 2007, as many as 56 out of 179 awardees were fromSAIL.
Of the SAIL awardees announced this year, sevenemployees of the RSP have won the Shram Bhusan. Another fromRSP bagged Shram Vir award along with five employees fromBhilai and one employee from Saleem Steel Plant.
Twenty employees (ten from Bhilai Steel Plant an fiveeach from Rourkela and Durgapur Steel Plant) won the ShramShree awards.
Savings to the tune of Rs 250 crore were made throughthe innovative projects implemented by these employees duringthe assessment period, the sources said.
