Not 'lame' PM washes hands of corruption
During the fourth day of the Budget session, Manmohan Singh claimed, "unfortunate developments have taken place in the areas of telecom and CWG, I assure the House there is nothing we will not do to clean our public life."
"If there is a scam, it must be dealt with the law of the land. Law of the land must punish the wrong doers," stated the PM while discussing about the Commonwealth Games 2010 (CWG 2010).
Defending his government, the PM also claimed, "Our government will fully cooperate with all agencies and entities to ensure that truth comes out on the telecom controversy. No wrongdoer should escape punishment from the legal system in the Commonwealth Games."
However, seeking Opposition parties' help for solving the Black money issue, Singh asserted, "We are one with the Opposition that everything should be done to bring back black money stashed abroad. Will sit together with parties and seek their help to see how black money problem can be dealt with."
Finally, talking about the Antrix-Devas deal, which has caused the nation a whopping Rs 2 lakh crore loss, PM claimed, "The government has taken a strategic decision not to allot S-Band spectrum to Antrix for commercial purposes."
Whenever, PM has encountered with any kind of corruption allegations, he always says that corruption should be handled with strict measures and all guilty persons will be punished. But Mr Singh, don't you think this is the high time to take strong action?
The nation has already experienced a huge loss over the corruption like 2G spectrum scam, CWG, Adarsh housing scam and Antrix-Devas deal. Now, strong actions should be taken. The time has come when the Prime Minister should show his power in tackling the corruptions in the country.
