BJP, AGP linked with ULFA''s Paresh Barua faction: Gogoi
Guwahati, Feb 24 (PTI) Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoitoday alleged that opposition parties like Asom Gana Parishad(AGP) and BJP had links with the Paresh Barua faction of theULFA and would take their help in coming assembly polls in thestate.
"ULFA, led by Paresh Barua, has issued threats toCongress ministers and legislators and is silent on AGP andBJP who have stated that talks without Barua will not befruitful," Gogoi told reporters on the sidelines of thelaunching of Assam State Wide Area Network and Assam Onlineportal here.
This made it clear that there was a ''definite link''between the opposition parties and a section of the ULFAwhichwould help the opposition parties during the assemblyelections, the chief minister alleged.
Gogoi charged he is "absolutely sure that former ChiefMinister (and AGP leader) Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and ULFA alsohave links".
"The opposition parties also do not accuse either ULFA orNDFB militants of being responsible for triggering bomb blaststhat had rocked the state over the years when everybody isaware of their involvement," he added.
Gogoi said there were intelligence inputs that Maoistswere establishing their base in the state and there wasevidence the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti and Adivasi NationalLiberation Army along with several other outfits had linkswith them.
Asked whether the anti-incumbency would work againstCongress, the Chief Minister said the development worksinitiated by his government would override all factors and theparty would definitely win the next elections.
