New Delhi, Feb 22 (PTI) The Delhi High Court today soughtresponse from the Centre, city government and a private schoolon a man''s allegation that his son was humiliated anddiscriminated by the school authority and complaint no actionhas been taken against the school despite his complaint.
Issuing notices to the Ministry of Human ResourceDevelopment(HRD) and the Directorate of Education, GNCT Delhi,and the DAV public school, Jasola Vihar, Justice A K Pathaksought their replies by March 24.
Filing a petition, Amodh Shastri alleged his son, aclass-VII student, has been facing humiliation in the schoolon one ground or other for the past few years and repeatedincidents of the teacher beating his son completely frightenedthe child who has stopped going to the school.
In January this year, his son was beaten up by theclass teacher for allegedly abusing another student from adifferent class during the recess, Shastri said.
According to the petitioner-father, his son was beaten upcontinuously until blood started oozing from his mouth and awritten apology was also taken from the child for his behaviorin the school.
When he brought the incident to the notice of the schoolprincipal, nothing fruitful happened and same humiliation anddiscrimination against his son continued, as per thepetitioner.
Shastri claimed he being a social activist and running anNGO to fight against injustices in society could be the reasonof such discrimination against his son.
"My crusade against the system is the possible reasonfor my son being tortured and discriminated in his school,"Shastri said and alleged that despite complaints to the policeas well as the education department against the schoolauthority, no action was taken.
Seeking protection of his child, the petitioner said hisson might not sit for the examination in the presentcircumstances and the examination date is fast approaching.
