Former Gujarat minister AmitShah has utilised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh''s statement ina press conference last week to allege that the Centre is"hatching a conspirary" in implicating him in Sohrabuddin fakeencounter killing case.
In a three-page affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, hesaid this was clear from Singh''s statement that BJP wasblackmailing the government on reforms in goods and servicestax by linking it to the case against Shah.
"There is a conspiracy hatched by the central governemntwhich is clear from the statement made by the Prime Ministerin the press conference on February 15, which supports thecase of the deponent (Shah) that the conspiracy has beenhatched by the central government," the former minister saidin his affidavit.
Shah said the Centre and CBI were biased against him.
Shah had earlier asked the Supreme Court to recall itsorder for a CBI probe on the grounds of "bias", levellingallegations of conspiracy against its judge and the Centre.
Shah, a close aide of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, alleged Justice Tarun Chatterjee (since retired) who as partof the Bench ordered the CBI probe in the case on January12, was under the scanner of the investigating agency in UttarPradesh Provident Fund Scam for "breach of trust".
He contended the entire exercise was the resultof a "political conspiracy to launch an unconstitutionalassault on the constitutionally formed and democraticallyelected Gujarat government", said Shah, a former minister ofstate for home, who is currently in judicial custody inAhmedabad.(more) PTI AAC RKS VSC
