Advani asks party MPs not to skip sittings of budget session

New Delhi, Feb 22 (PTI) In view of the ongoing cricketWorld Cup, BJP Parliamentary Party chief L K Advani todayasked party members not to skip proceedings in the House andbe present during crucial sittings of the Budget session.

Addressing the Parliamentary Party meeting of the BJPhere today, Advani said there are only 29 sittings in theBudget session before both Houses take a break for Holi.

There were reports that some MPs, including those fromthe BJP, were planning to write to the Chair (Speaker in caseof Lok Sabha and Chairperson in case of Rajya Sabha) seekingleave to watch the cricket world cup.

BJP is apprehensive that the pressure that it has builtup against the government on the issue of corruption may getweakened if its members are not present in both Houses ofParliament when issues like 2-G spectrum allocation, S-bandallocation to Devas Multimedia, Commonwealth Games projects,rations scam in the army, among others, come up fordiscussion.
