New Delhi, Feb 21 (PTI) Delhi Traffic Police todayadvised the people to avoid a number of city roads on February23 in view of a march to Parliament by some trade unions.
The Sponsoring Committee of Trade Unions would organise amarch to Parliament House from Ramlila ground to Jantar Mantarfrom 10 am that day, JCP (Traffic) Satyendra Garg said.
Due to the rally, traffic congestion is expected in theareas of New Delhi and Central Delhi. The roads affected wouldbe Connaught Place, JLN Marg, Tilak marg, Rajghat, MandiHouse, Delhi Gate, Asaf Ali Marg, Netaji Subash Marg, BahadurShah Zafar Marg, Mathura Road, Bara Khamba, Road Parliamentstreet, Sikandara Road and Ashoka Road, Garg said.
To reduce traffic congestion, goods vehicles will also bediverted at various points. Depending on traffic conditionsbuses and private vehicles will also be diverted.
No buses, including chartered buses will be allowed onRanjit Singh Marg towards Gurunanak Chowk from Barakhamba.
"General public and the motorists are advised to avoidthe above mentioned roads. Motorists are requested to plantheir movement in advance," Garg said.
