SAIL receives shining star CSR Award
Rourkela, Feb 22 (PTI) The Steel Authority Of India(SAIL) has received the maiden Wockhardt shining star CSRAward in the iron steel sector category.
The Wockhardt foundation is an International nonprofiting organisation form with a mission to work for theuplift of poor, weak and needy people.
SAIL, Annual spent on CSR (Community SocialResponsibility) activites, goes much beyond stipulated 2percent of distributable surplus, RSP sources said here today.
SAIL, serves the neighbouring community through 17hospitals, 7 speciality hospitals and 54 primary healthcentres.
The organisation contributes to educationaldevelopment through 146 schools in SAIL township and 286schools outside township.
The company runs 5 sports academies forhockey,football,atheletes,Archery and has other sportsfacilities and programmes for all round development of spots.
The Award was presented by Salman Khurshid, Unionminister of water resources, minority affairs and Sailchairman C S Verma, at a function held at Bombay on Saturdaylast.
