Goa govt handed over drug nexus case to CBI only in Feb
Hearing arguments in the case today, the division bench comprising Justice S P Deshmukh and Justice F M Reis orderedthat Union of India be made respondent to the petition.
Advocate General Subodh Kantak argued that the caseshould be kept pending till Union of India is made arespondent.
Surendra Desai, lawyer representing the petitioner,pleaded before the court that the investigation of the case bemonitored by the High Court.
"CBI should probe the entire nexus under supervision ofthe High Court," he said.
Seven policemen were arrested for allegedly having nexuswith an Israeli drug lord, while in an another case a policesub inspector Sunil Guddler was caught on camera allegedlyselling drugs to two foreigners.
