Rs 16 crore for renovation of Green Park stadium

Kanpur, Feb 21 (PTI) The renovation plans for the city''sGreen Park Stadium got a boost with the state governmentsanctioning 16 crore rupees for the purpose.

The government has already released Rs 10 crore and workhas started for the refurbishment of the cricket stadium.

"The work of modernisation of the stadium is going atfull swing and soon the remaining six crore rupees will begiven to the authorities," new Kanpur District Magistrate HariOm told reporters here.

Before taking over as the DM, Hari Om was posted asDirector in Sports Directorate in Lucknow.

"I myself will over see progress work. Hopefully we willget t o see international matches at this ground in nearfuture," Om said.
