Hyderabad, Feb 20 (PTI)Seeking to mount pressure on thehigh command on the Telangana issue, Congress MPs from theregion would meet the party''s core committee members in NewDelhi tomorrow.
"The MPs are meeting tomorrow in Delhi. We will thinkof our strategy. We might meet the core committee members andwe will give suggestions on what needs to be done. Thesituation is very critical given the ongoing non-cooperationmovement. It might go out of hand if we do not act," CongressRajya Sabha member K Keshav Rao told reporters here today.
He hoped that an assurance to the Telangana supporterswould come from the top leadership in about a month''s time.
"The high command is seriously seized of the matter. Ithas come to the last stage. I hope some kind of an assuranceor word would come on the issue in a month," he said.
A group of Congress MLAs and MLCs met at the residenceof state Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy Saturday ontheir return from New Delhi where they held discussions withseveral central leaders, including Union Home Minister PChidambaram on the issue.
The Telangana Congress leaders have also decided to writea letter to the party high command explaining the currentpolitical developments in the region on the statehood issueand to take note of the ongoing non-cooperation agitationstarted by Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC),according to sources. .
