New Delhi, Feb.21 (PTI) Prime Minister ManmohanSingh, who is facing opposition onslaught over a series ofscams, today said the Budget session of Parliament is "verycrucial" and hoped that the proceedings will be peaceful andproductive.
"This Budget session of Parliament is very crucial.
The budget has to be debated and passed by the two Houses ofParliament," he told reporters at Parliament House.
"We also hope to bring some important pieces oflegislation for consideration of Parliament," he said.
Government has been under opposition attack over2G spectrum allocation, Adarsh housing, CWG and ISRO S-bandscams.
The winter session of Parliament was a washout withthe opposition insisting on a Joint Parliamentary Committeeprobe into the 2G scam.
"It''s our sincere hope that this session will bepeaceful and productive," Singh said.
The Prime Minister had yesterday stated thatGovernment is ready to discuss any issue raised by theopposition.
