Aarushi tragedy: Accused parents' battle continues
"We have filed a petition. Now it's in the court's hands. I would not comment on the merits of the case as the case is subjudice," stated Talwar's lawyer Rebecca John.
Continuing her statement about the petition filed in the Allahabad High Court, the lawyer also claimed, "We are definitely taken aback by the order. Nothing can justify the summoning of Rajesh Talwar (for the next hearing Feb 28) but having done it, we will go to a higher court challenging the order."
A special court, delivering judgment on CBI's closure report, pronounced that Rajesh and Nupur Talwar are the only accused in the murder case of their 14-year-old child Aarushi and their domestic help, Hemraj.
While the CBI had all along maintained that Rajesh was the only suspect though he could not be implicated due to lack of substantial evidence. However, Nupur's name as an accused has emerged for the first time.
The Talwars have been asked to appear before the court on Feb 28 when their trial begins.
