Thirumavalavan to attend last rites of Parvathi Pillai
Chennai, Feb 20 (PTI) Viduthalai Chirutheigal Katchi (VCK)founder and pro-LTTE leader Thol Thirumavalavan, MP, todaycondoled the death of Parvathi Pillai, mother of slain LTTEchief V Prabhakaran, and said he would participate in her lastrites in Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
"Her death is shocking. She lived her last days without anynear and dear ones on her side," he said in a statement here.
His party flags will fly half-mast for three days as a markof respect for the deceased, Thirumavalavan, whose party is anally of the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, said.
He said he would participate in the last rites of Pillaischeduled at Valvettithurai in the island nation on Tuesday.
The 81-year-old Pillai had died of multiple ailments likediabtetes and heart problem at a hospital in northern Jaffnathis morning.
Though survived by three children--two married daughterseach in Toronto and Chennai and a son in Denmark, they werenot ready to visit Sri Lanka but had been helping herfinancially during her last days.
