Kolkata, Feb 19 (PTI) A keen competition is on the cardswhen current leader Salgaocar take on Chirag United in their15th outing of the I-League at Yuba Bharati Krirangan heretomorrow.
Though the Goan outfit have so far earned 31 points from14 matches, 12 points more than Chirag who have also played 14matches, the home side are known for their fighting quality.
With former international Subrata Bhattacharjee actingas head coach of the side, Chirag are capable of causing anupset against any team any time.
East Bengal have also got 31 points from 14 ties butSalgaocar are now at the pole position because of better goaldifference.
Subrata said all his players are fit and would field hisfull side. Besides there is a possibility that striker SunilChhetri, who has been signed by the club recently, might finda place in the playing side tomorrow, Subrata hinted.
"We know Salgaocar are at the top now and they havestrikers like Yakubu and Ekene in their fold. But we are notafraid of that and we would go all out to earn full threepoints tomorrow," Subrata said.
The Kolkata side would largely depend on Abhijit Mondalunder the cross piece while Arnab Das and Chikawala led theforce in the defence. They have good strike force in Joshimar,Junior and Mohammed Rafi at the upfront. But much would dependon Denson Devdas who is the main schemer in midfield.
Salgaocar are now on a high morale. Besides, their coachKarim Bencharifa is a veteran of Kolkata maidan who knows inand out of the top outfits of the city.
The visitors have a tremendous striking force in Yakubu,Ekene and Seouka who have the capability of changing thecomplexion of the game any moment.
"We will play our game and we are not worried whetherplaying at home or away. We have to get three points from thismatch. I have got confidence on my boys and I am sure theywould live up to the expectation tomorrow," Bencherifa said.
