Marginal rise in night temperatures in HP
Shimla, Feb 19 (PTI) The piercing cold wave sweepingHimachal Pradesh persisted today, even as night temperaturesrose marginally and weather remained mainly dry in the region.
The maximum day temperatures also increased marginallyin mid and lower hills with Una recording a high of 23 deg C,followed by Sundernagar 21 deg C, Mandi 20.2 deg C, Nahan 19.9deg C and Bhuntar 18.2 deg C.
Shimla and Solan recorded minimum temperature of 3.1deg C each, while Dharamsala, Bhuntar, Sundernagar, Palampurand Una recorded a low of 4.5 deg C, 5.7 deg C, 6.3 deg C, 6.5deg C and 6.2 deg C, three to four degree below normal.
Keylong and Kalpa in tribal districts of Lahaul andSpiti and Kinnaur recorded minimum temperatures of minus 8.4deg C and minus 2.6 deg C, respectively.
The sky remained partially overcast and chilly windsswept the region causing fall in mercury during the day.
The local MeT office has predicted rains or snow atisolated places during the next 48 hours.
