Mirpur (Dhaka), Feb 20 (PTI) He plundered Bangladesh''sbowling attack in India''s 87-run win in the World Cup openerand Virender Sehwag conceded he was looking for revenge forthe four-year-old loss to the same opponents in the previousedition of the event.
At the post-match conference last night, when questionedwhether it was a revenge game, the Man of the Match who scored175 runs gave a curt reply, "I think so."
A scribe asked whether he was under any pressure toperform, and in his characteristic style Sehwag replied, "Nopressure for me as I only bother about playing and scoringruns."
Sehwag said his 140-ball 175 was a blend of caution andaggression.
"When we started, we got 10 runs per over for the first3-4 overs but then we decided that we had to be careful orelse we might lose a few wickets."
Sehwag however did praise the Bangladeshi team for itsfighting spirit.
"They have the ability to disappoint any big side. Theyare a good side and have the ability to do well against thetop sides," he said.
The Indian opener also praised his junior state-mateVirat Kohli for scoring an 83-ball 100.
"He really played well. He has matured," Sehwag said.
Sehwag maintained that it would have been easy to chase300-320 on this track and the team management wanted to fieldfirst if skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss.
"We were also looking to field first. Chasing 300-320would have been fine as it is easy to chase." PTI MI KHS PM
