Dempo go down 0-2 against Al Sadd in ACL play-off

New Delhi, Feb 19 (PTI) I-League champion Dempo''s questfor qualifying in the AFC Champions League failed for thesecond time as they lost 0-2 to Qatar''s top side Al Sadd in aplay-off match in Doha today.

Abdul Kader Keita, 2010 World Cupper from Ivory Coast,and prolific striker Leandro Da Silva from Brazil scored forAl Sadd in the 33rd and 89th minutes respectively at SheikhJassem Bin Hamad Stadium.

Dempo, who had also lost to UAE''s Al Sharjah in a similarplay-off match in 2009, will now play in the second-tier AFCCup.

They join defending champions Al Ittihad of Syria, AlQadsia of Kuwait, Al Saqr of Yemen and Shurtan of Uzbekistanin Group B of AFC Cup.

Al Sadd will join Al Nassr (Saudi Arabia), Esteghlal(Iran) and Pakhtakor (Uzbekistan) in Group B of the ACL, theelite club competition in Asia.
