Cong Ministers, MPs from Telangana meet to decide strategy
Hyderabad, Feb 19 (PTI) Congress Ministers, MPs and MLAshailing from Telangana region met here today to discuss theirfuture strategy on the statehood issue.
The group of Congress MLAs and MLCs who returned from afour-day trip to New Delhi after meeting several top leadersof AICC, including Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, briefedthem about their deliberations at the residence of statePanchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy, sources said.
The Telangana Congress leaders have decided to write aletter to the party high command explaining the currentpolitical developments in the region on the statehood issueand also urging it to take note of the ongoing non-cooperationagitation.
Jana Reddy later appealed to the Telangana supporters togive up the non-cooperation agitation, they began on February17, "in the interests of the state."
Sources said the Congress MPs from the region mightdemand tabling of a Bill for creation of Telangana state onthe opening day of Budget session of Parliament on Monday.
About seven ministers, three MPs and a handful of MLAsattended the meeting, sources said.
