Kolkata, Feb 19 (PTI) BJP''s demand for a JPC probe intothe 2G spectrum scam along with those of Commonwealth Gamesprojects and Adarsh Housing society are neither correct nortimely, CPI said today.
"(BJP leader L K) Advani''s demand is not correct andtimely one. Our (Opposition''s) agitation has been on having aJPC on the 2G spectrum scam. Once that is conceded you cannotgo on adding all types of other scams as the focus on 2G scamwill be lost that way," CPI general secretary A B Bardhan toldPTI here.
On Parliamentary Affairs Minister P K Bansal hinting a JPCto probe into the spectrum scam, he said, "It is alreadyknown. What will be done formally may take place in a day, ortwo or three. But the decision is already known."
Asked whether the coming Budget session of Parliamentwould be smooth, Bardhan said the Winter session faced hurdleson the JPC issue. "If that is solved, I do not think why thebudget session cannot run without any deadlock."
In the Budget session, beginning February 21, the Leftparties would focus on corruption, price rise and other issuesconcerning the poor, he said.
To a question on the Union Budget, he said the governmentwas more comfortable in bailing out the corporates and therich. "But they (the government) are very miserly when itcomes to the poor. I do not expect there will be any radicalchange in this approach of the government."
However, it was possible that some populist measures mightbe announced with an eye on the upcoming Assembly polls infive states.
