Jammu, Feb 19 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister OmarAbdullah, who has been under fire from opposition PDP, saidtoday that an attempt is being made to instigate unrest inKashmir Valley.
"Obviously an attempt is being made to instigate (unrestin Kashmir)", Omar told reporters in reply to the possibilityof triggering Egypt-type unrest in Kashmir valley for changeof government.
Without naming PDP, he said "these (instigators) are thesame forces that have never said a word against stone-peltingagitation last summer".
The Chief Minister said that these forces had tried toglorify everything that had happened in the Valley last summerand resorted to "some sort of battle against me as a personrather than for the cause for which it was being done".
To another question if there will be any replication ofEgypt-type of agitation in Kashmir Valley, Omar said "now willan attempt be made to replicate such a situation here? Whoknows? I would be surprised if there are not people thinkingin that direction".
"The people of Jammu and Kashmir are for more sensibleand for more intelligent than these leaders give them creditfor. They would prefer peaceful means of changing agovernment", he said.
