Polish priest found murdered in northeast Tunisia
MANOUBA, TUNISIA: A Polish priest was found murdered in the warehouse of a school in northeast Tunisia on Friday, the state-run Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) news agency reported on Saturday.
Polish priest Marek Marius Rybinski, 34, was employed at the Salesian School in Manouba. His body with his throat slashed was found on Friday in the warehouse of the school, TAP reported.
The Tunisian Interior Ministry said it was saddened about Rybinski's murder and accused a "group of terrorist fascists with extremist tendencies and belonging" of being behind the crime, without providing further details.
Tunisia's acting government has been struggling to contain order in the nation after the ouster of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who was forced to resign last month amid widespread anti-government protests.
Authorities are investigating the murder of the priest.
