Panaji, Feb 18 (PTI) State Chief Minister Digambar Kamattold reporters today that the agriculture department has beenasked to clear all the dues of the farmers, for whomcompensation has been approved by the state government.
He said that the issue was discussed in the cabinetmeeting held today at Porvorim.
"It was felt that the compensation paid to the farmerswas meagre," he said adding that a proper compensation packagewould be worked out after discussing the issue with the stake-holders.
Responding to a question, Kamat said that all the dues ofthe farmers would be cleared.
Goa had seen worst-ever floods two years back, whileheavy rains had affected the paddy cultivation in the statelast year too.
