Cong indulging in communal polarisation, says BJP on Babri
New Delhi, Feb 18 (PTI) BJP today accused the Congress ofindulging in "communal polarisation" on Babri Masjid issueafter CBI challenged in the Supreme Court the Allahabad HighCourt order that dropped conspiracy charge against seniorleader L K Advani in the demolition case.
"Congress should not play politics over a matter which isin the courts. It is indulging in communal polarisation andtrying to break the unity between the two communities.
Congress has always believed in ruling through a policy ofdivide and rule," BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said.
The CBI moved the Supreme Court today challenging anAllahabad High Court order that dropped charges of criminalconspiracy against top BJP leaders including L K Advani andMurli Manohar Joshi in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
In its appeal, the agency said that the High Court hadnot come to the right conclusion and the charges of criminalconspiracy should be restored against them.
The High Court had on May 20 last year dismissed the CBIplea seeking revival of criminal conspiracy charges againsttop BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders which also includedAshok Singhal, Giriraj Kishore, Vinay Katiyar, Vishnu HariDalmiya, Sadhvi Rithambara and Mahant Avaidya Nath.
Hussain said BJP would not allow the designs of theCongress to succeed and would also fight against "misuse" ofthe investigating agencies.
