Uddhav oozes sarcasm, says Pak players are welcome

Mumbai, Feb 18 (PTI) A day after Shiv Sena renewed itsattack on Pakistani cricket players, party executive presidentUddhav Thackeray today sarcastically said "we should notoppose but welcome" the Pak players.

The Sena is receiving flak from different quarters oversenior leader Manohar Joshi''s statement that Sena chief BalThackeray would decide whether to allow Pakistani players toplay at Wankhede Stadium here, if they reach the final of ICCWorld Cup.

"There is nothing to worry. Welcome the Pakistaniplayers, shower them with flowers from a helicopter and alsofelicitate them," Uddhav said in a statement today.

The party has no objection over the players playingin Mumbai, he said. "In fact, the people preventing them fromplaying should be booked for sedition and hanged at the handsof Ajmal Kasab and Afzal Guru," Uddhav said in a sarcasticvein.

Referring to Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan''sdetention at Delhi airport for carrying undeclared cashrecently, Uddhav said the Pakistani players can any timecome to India with ''lakhs of dollars to use for hawala''.

"Whatever the World Cup result may be, Pak playersshould come to Mumbai and a felicitation programme should bearranged at Wankhede Stadium," he said. PTI SSG VT KRK
