New Delhi, Feb 18 (PTI) The issue of a separate Telanganacould generate heat in the Budget session of Parliamentbeginning Monday as the government has no plans to table abill to carve out a new state.
"A bill on Telangana is not included in the list of billsto be introduced in the budget session," Parliamentary AffairsMinister Pawan Kumar Bansal told reporters.
He, however, hastened to add that the list of bills wasalways "tentative" and Home Ministry could come up with aproposal.
During his recent interaction with editors of televisionchannels, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was ambivalent onthe issue.
He had said the government was trying to arrive at aconsensus on the "complicated" statehood issue throughconsultations with political parties, which should be allowedto be pursued to its "logical conclusion".
