Guwahati, Feb 18 (PTI) There has been a slightimprovement in the condition of Jnanpith awardee IndiraGoswami and her family members are considering taking her toNew Delhi for further treatment if doctors permit.
"There has been slight improvement in her reflexesthough she still remains unconscious and her condition iscritical," Gauhati Medical College and Hospital ChiefSuperintendent M M Deka told reporters here.
Deka said the litterateur''s family members haveexpressed the desire that she be airlifted to New Delhi fortreatment and a doctor from Medanta - The Medicity, Gurgaon,has arrived here to examine her.
He said Goswami might be shifted in a day or two in anair ambulance after due consultations with doctors of GMCHattending on her and Medicity''s doctor of critical caredepartment Rajat Gupta.
Her brother Tapan Goswami said the family will take adecision to shift her only if the GMCH doctors give the greensignal.
A team of GMCH doctors are monitoring the condition ofthe 69-year-old writer round the clock and was in constanttouch with two doctors from AIIMS who had examined her onTuesday, he said.
Goswami was brought to the hospital on February 13night after she complained of respiratory problems and wasimmediately put on ventilator support.
