Sources reported that Raja managed to receive home-made food since his stomach reportedly troubled him a lot. Earlier, Raja's counsel stated that, "Raja has a stomach problem, he should be allowed to take home food."
Earlier it was reported that Raja will have home-made food twice daily as per the court's order.
Now it should not come as a shocker if the former minister complains of several health problems, including chest pain, blood pressure and diabetes among others, a tried and tested method often used by politicians to evade harsh punishment.
Raja, who has been arrested for his alleged role in the 2G spectrum scam, had previously skipped CBI summons citing health problems. His personal doctor accompanied him during his arrest by the CBI.
The tainted former minister has been remanded to CBI custody until Feb 17. As per the court's order, Raja will be lodged in the dreaded Tihar Jail until Mar 3.
Sources report that Raja is sharing his ward with former Delhi ACP S S Rathi, who has been convicted in the 1997 Connaught Place shootout case.
According to some sources, the former minister kept to himself and did not interact with his fellow prisoners. He is reportedly reading books to pass his time behind the bars.
