2G: JPC on cards; Oppn-govt discussion on
After a total failure of Parliament's Winter Session in 2010, government is more concern for a successful Budget Session which will begin from Monday, Feb 21.
Sources informed that the final decision on Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe in 2G scam will be taken in the all party meeting on Feb 20 organised by Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar.
However, the sources also confirmed that government may initiate JPC probe only in 2G scam and not in Adarsh Housing scam and CWG irregularities. Opposition parties recently demanded JPC for all scams in the nation including 2G.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Pawan Bansal informed, "The JPC is likely to have 30 members; 20 from the Lok Sabha and 10 from the Rajya Sabha."
Meanwhile, parties like CPM and AIADMK expressed concern about the size of the committee. With less than 20 members, they may not get a berth if the committee is small.
