Guwahati, Feb 17 (PTI) Jnanpith award winning Assameselitterateur Indira Raisom Goswami''s health condition remainedcritical for the sixth day today.
"There has been no change in her condition though thefever has gone down. She remains critical and on ventilatorsupport," Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) ChiefSuperintendent M M Deka told reporters here.
A team of GMCH doctors are monitoring her condition ofthe 69-year old litterateur round the clock and are in touchwith two AIIMS doctor who examined her on Tuesday, he said.
Meanwhile, President Pratibha Patil today wished Goswamispeedy recovery.
"President came to know about Dr Goswami''s illness andwishes her a speedy recovery," Rashtrapati Bhavan spokespersonArchana Dutta told PTI over telephone.
Patil sent a get-well card and a bouquet through the RajBhawan here, Dutta added.
Prayer meetings were today held in different parts of thestate, including her birth place Amranga in Kamrup (Rural)district.
Goswami, popularly called ''Mamoni Baideu'' was admittedto the hospital on the night of February 13 after shecomplained of respiratory problems and was put on ventilatorsupport in the intensive care unit.
She has authored several novels and short stories and hadearlier taken the initiative for a political dialogue toresolve the ULFA issue which has rocked the state for nearlythree decades.
