Haryana keen on JV with British Universities
Chandigarh, Feb 17 (PTI) Haryana government is keen onentering into joint venture with British universities in areasof medical science, technical subjects and sports.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who was interactingwith a delegation universities of the United Kingdom, whichcalled on him in Rohtak, on Wednesday evening said Haryanawould be happy to collaborate with the UK universities,because the state government aimed at providing qualityeducation to its students.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana Government wasalso laying emphasis on sports. Under the �Play for India�campaign, SPAT programme had been started to pick up potentialplayers in the 8-14 and 14-19 age groups and train them forgames of their choice.
Ann Priest, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Nottingham TrentUniversity, said she was keen on collaboration in the fieldsof architecture, micro-finance, fashion technology and jointresearch.
Sandra Hollis Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Anglia RuskinUniversity, showed interest in collaboration in socio-culturaland economic fields and entrepreneurship.
