DMK enacting drama on TN fishermen issue: Pandian

Sivaganga, February 18 (PTI) The DMK was enacting a"drama" by asking its cadres and leaders to court arrestprotesting the detention of Tamil Nadu fishermen by Sri Lankanauthorities, CPI State Secretary D Pandian said today.

Speaking to reporters at Manamadurai in the district, healleged the Central Government, which should protect Indianfishermen, has granted Rs 3,000 crore to Sri Lanka.

"The DMK has staged a drama and had some of its leadersarrested", he said, referring to the recent arrest of DMKleaders, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi''sdaughter Kanimozhi, for attempting to take out a rallyprotesting the detention of over more than 100 Indianfishermen by Sri Lanka.

Pandian asked "against whom" DMK members were protestingwhen their party was a partner in the UPA, which he allegedwas rendering help to Sri Lanka.

Pandian said all parties should unite to defeat the DMKin the coming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

On the 2G Spectrum scam, Pandian said "more and moreinformation" was now coming to light about the case and saidthose that have been arrested should be grilled more to elicitthe truth.
