Accused in Sonawane muder case sent to judicial custody
Nashik, Feb 17 (PTI) Special Maharashtra Control ofOrganised Crime Act court here today remanded nine accused inthe Yashwant Sonawane murder case to 14 days'' judicialcustody, till March 2.
Police have filed case against 15 people, and nine out of11 accused were in police custody till today.
Prime accused Popat Shinde died in Mumbai''s J J Hospital,succumbing to burn injuries, while his minor son, Kunal hasbeen sent to a remand home here.
Four other accused, including suspended Police ConstableJagan Pimple, are absconding.
Additional Collector Yashwant Sonawane was burnt alive byPopat Shinde and others near Manmad on January 25 whenSonawane intercepted fuel adulteration that was underway.
Shinde too got burnt, and later died.
