Telangana JAC''s non-cooperation agitation from tomorrow

Hyderabad, Feb 16 (PTI) The Telangana political JointAction Committee (JAC) would start a non-cooperation agitationfrom tomorrow to mount pressure on the Centre to introduce aBill in the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament forformation of separate Telangana.

The Telangana government employees, teachers, workersof state-run Singareni Collieries and others would take partin the stir, JAN Convener M Kodandaram told reporters today.

It would be coinciding with the beginning of Budgetsession of AP legislature and would be in the form of work torule, pen down, tool down among others, he said.

The government employees, teachers, staff of publictransport undertakings, students and other sections of thesociety are holding meetings to decide their role in the stir.

Each section would decide its role in the agitation workingunder the umbrella of the JAC, Kodandaram said here.

Referring to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh''s remarksthat the Telangana issue was sensitive and complex, whichcannot be solved in a day, the JAC Convener said that theCongress high command came under the influence of "affluentclasses of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema."

"The Central leadership should be impartial. But weare getting the feeling that it has come under the viciousinfluence of the affluent sections of the ''Seemandhra''(Rayalaseema and coastal AP regions)."

Alleging that the Congress high command was not payingheed to the requests of some party MLCs, MLAs and MPs, who arecamping in Delhi to impress upon the leadership for afavourable decision on Telangana demand, he said the rulingparty leaders should join the agitation.
