The Samsung Wave 578 has a 3.2-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display and runs on Samsung"s Bada 1.1 platform. It is fitted with TouchWiz 3.0 UI and QuickType feature to support multi-touch functionality and three times faster typing speed. Also, this smartphone features zoom and pinch functions on screen.
Wave 578 S5780 has a 3.2-megapixel camera at the rear and a front-facing VGA camera for video calling. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 2.0. Users can download more than thousand apps from Samsung Apps.
The special feature that makes this smartphone unique, is its social networking connectivity options. The Social Network Service (SNS) integration will connect phone contacts with social network accounts on Facebook, Twitter etc directly.

Samsung claimed that Wave 578 will give talk time of around 750 minutes on the 2G network and 410 minutes on the 3G network. Samsung is yet to announce announce the official release date and price of the Wave 578.
