Simarjeet takes one shot lead at NCR Cup

New Delhi, Feb 16 (PTI) Seasoned Simarjeet Singh took aone-shot lead into the second half of the NCR Cup, one of thepremier events on the IGU amateur circuit, here today.

Simarjeet, former winner of the Sri Lanka Amateur title,shot a second successive round of 74 at the Delhi Golf Club tomove one clear of Kanishk Madan (76-73).

Following the top duo were Angad Cheema (78-73) andRakesh Kumar (74-77).

HS Kang and Sidharth Semwal shared the fifth place at152. The cut came at 22-over and the top 40 and tied stayed onfor the next two rounds.

Rain delayed the proceedings in the morning, and playstarted 30 minutes late. But by 8.15, it was bright and sunnyand it drizzled once again in the evening, but the last groupmanaged to finish the round.
