Night temperatures drop after rains lash Punjab and Haryana
Chandigarh, Feb 17 (PTI) The minimum temperaturesacross Punjab and Haryana today dropped by a few notches afterseveral parts in the two states were lashed by rains thisweek.
Amritsar in Punjab, which was lashed by rainsyesterday, was the coldest place with a minimum temperature of6.1 degrees Celsius, one below normal, the MeT said here.
Ludhiana, too, experienced a cold night at 6.6 deg C,down two notches, while Patiala, which was lashed by 11.2 mmof rains, recorded a minimum of 7.6 deg C, also two belownormal.
In Haryana, Ambala, which received light rains, recordeda low of 10.1 deg C, while the low at Hisar settled at 7.1 degC, down one notch.
Karnal, which got light showers, registered a low of7.4 deg C, down three notches, while Narnaul, too, had a coldnight at 7.2 deg C, two below normal. The minimum at Gurgaonsettled at 8.5 deg C.
Many places in the two states have received light tomoderate rains since Monday.
Chandigarh, which was also lashed by rains, recorded alow of 9.5 deg C.
Not much change has been forecast by the MeT in the nighttemperatures in the plains until tomorrow.
