Jharkhand beat Assam by 116 runs

Agartala, Feb 16 (PTI) Jharkhand maintained their unbeatenstatus in the Vijay Hazare Trophy by winning the third matchagainst Assam by 116 runs.

Assam won the toss and elected to field at the PolytechnicGround here today.

Sourav Tiwary was the highest scorer for Jharkhand scoring75 while opener Subrata Ghosh scored 39 to help the visitorsscore 267.

For Assam, Sujay Tarafder was the most successful bowlergetting four wickets for 70 runs while Pallav Kumar Das baggedthree for 38 runs.

In reply to Jharkhand''s 267, Assam were bundled out for151 in 30.3 overs. Parviz Aziz was Assam''s top scorer with 52runs with the help of eight boundaries while Amit Sinha scored42 (4x7).

Shahbaz Nadem was the most successful Jharkhand bowler.

Nadem got four wickets for 37 runs while Y Krishantry got twofor 22 runs.
