Bhubaneswar, Feb 17 (PTI) Orissa Assembly wasdisrupted amid two quick adjournments today with OppositionCongress members storming into the well and hitting out at theBJD government over abduction of Malkangiri district CollectorR V Krishna by Maoists.
While Congress legislators trooped into the well soonafter the House assembled for the day demanding suspension ofquestion hour to discuss the incident, BJP MLAs were on theirfeet lashing out at the government.
Raising the issue, leader of opposition BhupinderSingh alleged that the government machinery had collapsed inthe state and law and order situation reached its nadir duringthe BJD rule even as colleagues of his Congress party rushedinto the well.
Congress MLAs raised slogans against the governmentasking it to step down as some of them tried to climb thespeaker''s podium and snatch the mike on his table.
Singh and his partymen attacked the government for notsharing information on the whereabouts of the kidnappedcollector and steps being taken for his release a dayafter the IAS officer was abducted.
The opposition legislators demanded immediatestatement from the government on the incident.
As uproarious scenes persisted, Speaker Pradip Amatadjourned the House twice finding it difficult to conductbusiness.
