Rourkela, Feb 17: Three top Assam-based Maoist leaders who were arrested by Rourkela police on Saturday from Saranda forest, were today taken on transit remand by the Assam police for further interrogation.

Police sources said that a team of Assam police and IB had visited this city and found some vital clues linking their activities with the banned outfit of ULFA group.

Rourkela police had arrested Aditya Borah and two of his aids -Trithraj Orang and Asik Sabar alias Ajaya - besides seizing arms, explosives and Maoist literatures.

During interrogation by local police, the Maoists have revealed that they were here to meet the rebel leader Kisanji on the direction of their Assam-based leader Dipak Ray.

Assam police and a Central Intelligence Bureau (IB) team comprising Additional Director General (ADG), Prithviraj Singh and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Assam, DK Datta Choudhury, both members of Special Task Force, had interrogated the three arrested Maoists and have reportedly come up with some startling revelations.

Though there was no official confirmation about the disclosures made, it was suspected that the Maoists have links with some Assam-based politicians, the sources claimed.
