New Delhi, Feb 16 (PTI) Two proclaimed offenders, who hadbeen evading trial in several cases including that of murderin the national capital, have been arrested by the DelhiPolice Special Cell.
Pramod Kumar alias Moody (25), who has been evading trialin two different cases, and Krishan Kumar, who was wanted in amurder case and has been absconding for more than one year,were arrested on February 14 and February 12 respectively,police said today.
Pramod Kumar allegedly attacked property dealer NihalSingh in 2008 and was arrested but was not attending the courtand evading the trial process.
"After securing bail in this case Pramod Kumar joined agang of robbers led by Raju of Nihal Vihar and alongwith othergang members committed a dacoity on January 28, 2009 inManesar, Haryana," Arun Kampani, Deputy Commissioner ofSpecial Cell, said.
In this incident, five gang members, including PramodKumar, chased a car, stopped it forcibly in Gurgaon, allegedlyinjured the occupant and robbed him of Rs 50,000.
Kumar was arrested but evaded trial and had been declaredas a proclaimed offender, he said.
In a separate operation, Krishan Kumar, who was wantedin a case of murder and was absconding for more than one year,was arrested. He had been declared as a proclaimed offender.
