MWC: HTC Salsa Facebook mobile - Review

Barcelona, Feb 16: How about a dedicated Facebook phone that offers all features of a high-end smartphone? Yes, the answer to this is the new HTC Salsa Facebook phone. Taiwan smartphone maker HTC has announced the launch of its new HTC Salsa smartphone, which features a dedicated 'Facebook Button', at the ongoing 2011 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

The Salsa smartphone is the second HTC phone to have been given the brand of a Facebook Phone after HTC's ChaCha. It has a 3.4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixels resolution. This smartphone runs on Google Android 2.4 Gingerbread operating system and is powered by a 600 MHz processor.

HTC Salsa offers a five megapixel camera at rear with LED flash and a VGA camera at front. The dedicated Facebook key offers one-touch access to the Facebook platform and ensures 24X7 connectivity to the site. This new HTC mobile also offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 512 MB ROM.

Unlike the HTC ChaCha, Salsa lacks a QWERTY keypad, but the touchscreen counters this by offering a full keypad. Along with 512 MB RAM, the HTC Salsa also offers 32 GB micro SD support.
