Four die in road mishap in Surat district

Surat, Feb 16 (PTI) Four persons were killed and onewas injured in a road accident near here in Palsana taluka ofthe district, police said today.

The mishap took place last night on a stretch betweenSurat and Dhule on the National Highway 6, they said.

A speeding truck collided head-on with a car comingfrom the opposite side, killing three persons on the spot. Thefourth victim died during treatment in hospital, police said.

The injured person is undergoing treatment in thehospital, they said.

A case has been registered against the truck driver,who is absconding, police added.
